The one habit that saves money: load a fixed amount, treat it as the budget for the night, and don't refill mid-session. Most overspending happens during a top-up in the heat of the moment, not during the careful purchase at the start.

The traps worth naming

Auto-refill is the quiet one. Some sites offer to top your balance automatically when it runs low, which is convenient and also exactly how a fun evening turns into a number you regret. Turn it off unless you really want it on.

Tip goals and countdowns push the same urgency any sale does. Nothing evil about them, just know they're a sales tool, not a deadline you actually have to hit.

Verify before you spend big
